Just wanted to share a quick update on my 2017 Crosstrek build. Ive been slowly turning it into a weekend camping rig without dropping thousands on a full off road setup. My brother gave me his take off struts from a 2021 Crosstrek Sport and gave my suspension a nice refresh. I added a 1.5 spacer lift around $240 and picked up some used 16 Method wheels with falken wildpeak a/ts for around $900 total. It rides great has solid clearance for mild trails and feels like a new car. Next is skid plates and maybe some lights and a simple drawer system for gear.Anyone else building their Crosstrek piece by piece?

nice! I think those next mods on your list are going to be game changers.
The skid plates will give you the confidence to not worry about that low hanging exhaust on those rough trails, and the drawer system will make packing and unpacking so much easier.
Check out the YT, there are tons of DIY guides for a simple drawer system using plywood that will save you a ton of cash

How are those Methods holding up on trail runs? Always wondered if used wheels are solid or if theres stuff that doesnt show till youre actually out there using them.
