Curious About Windshield Cracks on Subaru Outbacks — Anyone Experienced This?

Hey all,

I’ve been seeing a few posts on other Subaru Outback communities about windshields cracking seemingly easily, even without a clear rock hit, and I’m wondering if any locals here have experienced this with their Outbacks?

Some owners say it happens early in ownership, others mention warranty or non‑OEM glass options.

I’m curious what year models you’ve seen this on, how you handled replacement, and whether EyeSight calibration was an issue afterward.

Also, has anyone had success with protective coatings or insurance coverage for glass?

thanks in advance for any help

no response to this

Had a crack show up on mine out of nowhere too. When I went for replacement I specifically got OEM glass because I've heard the aftermarket stuff can mess with EyeSight calibration, and I didn't want that headache. Worth checking when you get quotes.
